Elder Tanner Daines: Mexico Culiacán Mission: Week 64

Hey all!

This week was super good! It went flying by. It has been nice have our own house once again, now that the other Elders are living in their old house. So much more peace and less stress. I love them, but 4 Elders living in a one bedroom one bath apartment is a little tough as I am sure you can imagine.

We had some pretty cool experiences this week! And Tuesday I was able to do splits with Elder Stock, he came to my area, and he was able to help we me even more courageous in just deciding to talk to anyone and everyone we saw! It was a cool experience with him, we had some great experiences in a few lessons.

On Monday, we had our Zone Conference as missionaries, and we were able to review key points that President Pieper gave us in the Leadership Training a couple weeks ago. Also, President Gabaldón came on Thursday for interviews with all the missionaries. We got there about 15 minutes before our scheduled time, and he was training the sister missionaries! We were unsure what to do at first, but he told us to come in and it was super cool! He focused a lot on how important the Book of Mormon is in the conversion of the people we teach. The Book of Mormon is was converts people through the power of the Holy Ghost. After the training, we focused a lot more on contacting using the Book of Mormon, and talking to everyone about it! It was super cool to see how much better we felt! I honestly could feel my testimony of the Book of Mormon was strengthened as I spoke about the blessings it has brought me in my life.

Yesterday, as we were in Church, we were a bit sad to see that Zeferino hadnt come, but after the first meeting we called, and told us he wasnt going to come because he did not feel well, but told us, Ill be there at 11 for the next service! It was cool to see the effort he is putting in to learn more and increase his faith. We are hoping to see that he will make the decision to be baptized within the next couple weeks! Also, this coming Monday are transfers. Who knows what will happen, but I will let you all know next Monday!
